One of the new skills that I learned from the PowerPoint interaction assignment was to create links to other slides. I made a jeopardy game and I enjoyed being able to link different slides to a click on the screen. One thing I can improve next time would be to make my slides look more appealing. I liked most of the assignment as a whole, the only thing that I didn't like about the assignment was I didn't have as much practice with it before starting. As a teacher using the new skills I learned in the survey assignment will come in handy. I plan on teaching second graders and if I make the surveys fun my class could enjoy them a lot. Surveys also give students the chance to answer how they want since their answers are anonymous. I could make a survey asking if they understand a lesson that we just learned and this will give me an average and see where my class is on that lesson.   Some of the topics that I found most interesting looking at my classmates blogs are their lesson ...

Personally my experiences in EME2040 have been very informative and useful for my future career in teaching. I was a flex student, some days I was in person while others I was online. I liked the class being flex, it allowed me to take notes on days I was online and ask questions on days I was in person. There wasn't much that I disliked about the course other then I would've liked her to have created some of the projects with us in class instead of them already being completed. To help improve my classroom experience as a teacher I will do some of the activities with my students as well.  OER resources are different form other resources because they are licensed. These resources are learning and teaching materials available online for anyone to use. Not only are they available to use but also share and repurpose. Some of the resources can be the textbook or games and videos.  (OER article) https://theihs.org/blog/open-educational-classroom-resources/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw5oiMBhDtARI...

I loved working on the Web design project in class. I was able to make a website in grade school using Weebly as well and being able to do that again was so much fun. I think the use of the website is a great way for parents and students to find all of the information that they need throughout the year. I loved that all of the information can be found on one website making it easier for all to use, but I wasn't a fan of how many tabs I had used. Link to website: https://kylafeme2040.weebly.com/ There are so many different skills that you are able to take away from Diigo. One of them that I found to be most useful was the ability to annotate websites and add them to our library so that our other classmates can see them as well. This could be a great way for other students to help and share information with each other. If we are doing a project Diigo it allows students to find information that may have been difficult for them to find on their own.  Technology in the classr...

This school website that I looked up gave a description of what a teacher need to teach at the school. Not only does it give the the qualifications needed but a brief description. Talks about bringing up the child through  academic, spiritual, athletic, artistic, extracurricular and service programs, the school endeavors to help each student develop fully. Then it proceeds to say how they are  accepting resumes from qualified individuals to teach high school Math and Science. This is just the math section of the website.  http://www.santafecatholic.org/math-science-teacher/  As a teacher I plan on using many different technology tools to accomplish my professional responsibilities effectively. Tools such as iPad for my students to use different apps. Apps like zoom, google classroom, khan, quizlet, and others. Quizlet can help students study and learn the material at hand. Other tools that I would use are the ones I put in my newsletter. Using the Wiki platform ...

Using Diigo to start was very confusing for me considering that I have never used it before. But once I started to get the hang of it and it was explained to me, I found that it was pretty straight forward and easy. I like that you can add tags so that it is easy for others to find posts related to that topic. I didn’t like how many steps that there were to it for new users it can be confusing, but once you get it started it gets easier. I love that we get to blog in this class, although we are told what to write about, I’m glad that we get to do it. I’ve wanted to blog before but never actually found the time to start one, but now that I have one made, I plan on using it more after this class. I like that we get to comment on other peoples posts to and get to be interactive. I think if I had to pick one thing, I don’t like about blogging it would be that we get the topics to write about, but it makes sense for the class. So far, I have learned how to form and organize my blog posts....

I haven’t been using twitter very long because I only got it recently for this class. Lately I have been looking at some very helpful educational pages that have proven to be very beneficial. These pages are RealClearEducation, KP Elementary & Secondary Education Department, and U.S. Department of Education. I have followed cited like these because they retain to the career I plan on pursuing. In my future career twitter can be a great place for other teacher to collaborate classroom ideas as well as keeping up to date with new and improved reforms. -           Digital divide is another topic that can affect students’ success in schools. Digital divide is the gap between people who do and do not have access to technology. It affects students by “creating disparity among” them, meaning some are believed to have a better advantage for success in education. Some causes of digital divide are the parents support for the use of technolo...

Hey Blog, The ELA Technology standard grade level I chose was 2 nd grade. I chose second grade because that is what I hope to end up teaching one day. The standard that I chose was the use of guidance and support from adults, use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers. The technology used would be a collaborative Smart Board or Promethean Board activities, class blogs and wikis, online storybook creators such as Story Jumper, online graphics software such as pixlr,   word processors such as Word. I feel that I could implement this in my classroom because it would give the kids a variety of opportunities to use different sites and skills to use. There are many resources that can be used from the CPALMS for many different grades and subjects. The grade I selected was 2 nd grade mathematics. The tool is adding two-digit numbers without regrouping, they used Khan academy for this. I feel like Khan is a great tool to use be...
